Texas Trip: East Texas

Man oh man! This was our first trip to Texas from Virginia and boy was it long! 18 hrs to Pittsburg, TX. I think what made it worse for me was just knowing we weren't even there yet and we would have to drive back...gross.

We spent a whole day in Pittsburg just hanging out. We went out to the land and fished a little and had a picnic. It was hot and muggy, but we can always count on catching a least one fish out there. I didn't have my camera, so I missed the fish but Jax was excited. Like his Daddy he has been asking to go fishing for a while.

Later that night Aaron made steaks for everyone at the Phillips and Melinda and Ira came out as well.

 We had a good time visiting and even preformed our skit for the Keys reunion just to practice. They seemed to enjoy it and the kids did a good job.

 My attempt at trying get a photo real quick before everyone went home. Ashlyn was so cute grabbing Grandpa's leg.

House Projects

When we bought our house back in February we knew there was a lot that we needed to do cosmetically. Then the rains came and we discovered that our uneven drive was the perfect place to collect rainwater. So we decided the best way to fix it was to put in a drain...again. Aaron wanted to get it done before we left for Texas, so that's just what he did, man was he busted when he finished up  in just one day. I tried to help but let's face it Aaron did most of the work.

So, our laundry room in currently in the garage. Well I sometimes when clothes are wet from toddler accidents, rags, sweaty clothes, etc... I will just toss them out on the garage floor in front of the washer so as not to get all the other clothes in the hamper wet and smelly. 

Anyways... the time has come for me to do the laundry. I come in the garage to add a load, then begin to add what is on the floor to it's correct pile. I notice that they really stink and instead of seeing which item it is I just throw it all in. About an hour later while switching the clothes to the dryer I've just about got it all unloaded when I feel something in my hand. My body reacts by throwing it on the floor before my brain even registers as to what this thing is. Then it hits, I've just washed and held a DEAD MOUSE!!! 

Now I really do not know if this mouse was alive when I threw it in or not but I stood there for a good full minute just grossing out thinking and looking at this disgusting thing!

Now those of you who know me know that I don't get grossed out about much but, aaahhhh I do not like mice!

 I got to fly into Utah to Keyan's wedding and I meet up with some old friends from the BYU track team. So fun to see these girls again! Good times!

Abbi was so nice to let me crash at her place with her cute family while I was in the valley. She even drove me around everywhere. Thanks Abbs!! Miss you already!

6 Year Anniversary Date

Aaron found a babysitter for our anniversary and we went bowling. Of course he killed me... 

but he had a slow start one game and I was actually winning at one point!

So glad his guy asked me to marry him over 6 years ago. I love the life we have together.

We went to Atlanta for Aaron's college roommates wedding. I was busy with dirty diapers and chasing kids I didn't get a picture...once again I'll steal one from them later!

Ever since Aaron has joined the Navy I have not ever seen where he works due to security clearences so I told him if there is ever a time I can come see where he works I want to see it, even if it didn't mean anything to him. Well, I got my chance for the keel laying...kinda it's not like I got to see the inside of the Sub.
