H.L. Hunley

5 January 2013
I was able to find on Groupon a great deal to go and see the H.L. Hunley!
The Hunley is famous for being the first submarine to successfully sink a ship during the Civil War.
You're not allowed to film/photo the actual Hunley, but this is us in a replica that is %10 larger.

Jax was fussy most of the tour, guess it was too close to nap time.

Christmas in Charleston

Well this is the first Christmas that Aaron and I have had in our home, it was different but we loved it.
We missed seeing all our family but Aaron's Dad was able to come in and we were so excited to have him.

North Charleston Ward Christmas Party
14 December 2012

We were sad when at the last minute they changed the Christmas Party to Friday instead of Saturday because that meant Aaron would not be able to come because of work...oh well first of many right?

Christmas Break
23 December 2012
But we were lucky to get a 4 day weekend that Aaron was able to spend with us and his Dad. I think Jax played with Dad every minute he could.
I love this, Jax first did this one morning a while back.
I usually send Jax in to wake up Aaron (he works 1200-2400). One morning he came in, climbed on the bed, went over to Aaron, pulled up his shirt and did this! I just about died laughing!

Helping Santa with Jax's Christmas Present.
This horse was Aaron's growing up and Aaron took it all apart and fixed it up. He really did a great job, I know I have an amazing AND talented husband!
 Reading with Grandpa Ira Tossey

So I made (with help from Ira, Aaron and some friends) my first Christmas Dinner! We had it Christmas Eve because Ira left on Christmas day, which was kinda nice cause all Christmas day we just hung around and I didn't even have to cook! Sorry didn't get a picture of the food. But this is us after the feast.

 Looks like Santa came!!

Christmas Day
25 December 2012
We wanted to go Christmas Eve before Ira left but it was raining so we went to the "Holiday Festival of Lights" show on Christmas Day. This is quite the show; a 3 mile drive of Christmas lights. Aaron took me here on my birthday last year and I wanted to do it again this year. We roasted marshmallows and had smores!

Christmas Letter 2012

Merry Christmas!
Our rundown of the year...
We started the year off by moving to our 5th home near Aaron’s training in the Greenslake Condominiums, and we really like were we are living.

Jax is such a boy, I think that is the best way of expressing his energy and interests at this point. He was walking at 8 1/2 months and since he’s learned to crawl he hasn’t stopped moving. He loves balls, cars, airplanes, animals, being outside and is growing, growing, growing! He is now in the 97th and 95th percentiles for height and weight.

Aaron completed his second phase of training they call Power School back in May. He graduated with Distinctions and was more than happy to get that part of the training finished.

We enjoyed the summer by spending time at Aaron’s “Grad Hold” job out at a lake near by and went skiing almost every week. I was able to hold my first live alligator that was about 5 feet long and Jax celebrated his 1st birthday in August.

On Aaron’s 26th birthday we announced that we’re expecting another little one to our family next April and they tell us it’s a girl. We could not be more excited!

Aaron had the opportunity to go gator hunting with a friend from church and killed a 10 ft. 8 in. alligator. He loved it and wants to put in for a tag of his own next year.

Church has had us busy with our callings. I’ve been called to the Primary Chorister and spend about 1 hour every Sunday teaching songs to children ages 18 months to 11 years old.  Aaron was asked to work as the Young Men’s President which had him super busy doing lessons on Sunday, meetings for the youth and scouts on Wednesdays, Saturday activities, summer events like conferences and anything in-between. He has just been released due to his work schedule not allowing him to be at meetings. He is half way through his 3rd and final stage of training here in Charleston and can not wait till it is over!

We miss all of you so much and hope you enjoy this season and are spending it with the ones you love. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

“May we each discover anew the Christmas spirit - even the Spirit of Christ.”

With Love,
Aaron, Tamra and Jackson Tossey

Thanksgiving w/ the Grays

 Thanksgiving 2012

23 Nov 2012
We were lucky enough this year to be able to go to Snow Hill, MD to see the Gray's for Thanksgiving. We were ready to get out of Goose Creek and take a road trip and we were so excited to see family and get out of the "city."

Jax loved to be outside and we loved letting him go free for a while. I miss having a yard to let him play in, but soon enough =)

Aaron, Jax and Niki playin football.

My handsome boys

Sanoris and Niki reading to Jax.
The boys loved Jax and always wanted pick him up.
 He played so hard
There is always a wrestling match with Uncle Aaron

This was Jax's favorite place to play...and the only problem place to play...

24 Nov 2012
Aaron, Geno, and the boys were so excited to shoot skeet one evening while Julie and I went shopping for baby girl cloths. That's right!!!!
They say we're having a GIRL!!!!

Happy Halloween

 Happy Halloween!
October 13th 2012
I kept telling Aaron how I wanted to carve a pumpkin on the 10th of every October, because that's what we did on our first date 3 years ago. Well we didn't get to do it on the 10th due to YMs and work but we did carve our pumpkin! Aaron and I thought it looked like an  alligator after we were done.

Jax wouldn't touch the "pumpkin brains" for the longest time. He wasn't so sure about it.

Bringing the Rodeo to Town!

If you haven't figured it out...Jax: Bull Rider, Aaron: Bull, Tamra: Rodeo Clown
It was the funniest thing, all the primary kiddos coming up to me and trying to figure out what I was. They couldn't decide if I was a cowgirl or a clown :/ I guess they haven't seen too many rodeos.
Everyone loved Aaron's horns!

Aaron's YM were in charge of a game at the party. They did Boo Bowling and it turned out really cool. Everything went great till the fire alarm went off because of the fog machine...oops!

 Bobbing for Apples

On Halloween night we went to Chipotle's for "Booritos" and we dressed up for the discount. We had multipule people tell us how they thought we had the best family/group costumes they had ever seen.
