Christmas Letter
December 2015
We
are now a family of five, but before I get to that…
I think this was the year of
Family Reunions. First we took off in our newly purchased 2014 Honda Odyssey
that Aaron got for me, (yes we are a minivan family and happy for it) on a 35
hour drive up to Bolder, CO for the Hoer Family Reunion (on my Mother’s side).
It was great to see a lot of my extended family especially my Grandparents and
for them to meet Jordyn and Ashlyn, it’s been 4 years since we had seen
them. After which we came back to
Childress, TX to have a Keys Family Reunion, where Jax was dubbed the toad
catcher. Then just a month after we traveled all the way back to Charleston, SC
and we hosted the Tossey Family Reunion.
We
were able to spend a lot of time with my family this year, my Mom came out for the
most exciting event; Ashlyn’s birth then we had my parents to ourselves two
times this year, first when we had the opportunity on the way to Bolder to stay
in our friends cabin and fish. Next when Aaron got his gator tag he invited my
Dad to join him on his hunt and they seemed to have a blast, while I had Mom to
myself. We even got a special quick trip when my brother-in-law Kevin Schade
came to Charleston for a dental interview and he got to see him for a couple of
days.
Ashlyn
Esther Tossey 10 months old joined our family early on this year in February
and just seemed to fit. The kids immediately loved her and like all our kids
she has not stayed little for long and is on the move. Crawling early she
scaled our stairs at 6 ½ months and is starting to walk at 9 months.
Jordyn
2 yrs. I’m told has a lot of me in her and has a mind of her own. She loves to
sing and dance and is in love with “Frozen” and is singing “Let It Go” all the
time, intermixed with Primary songs and her own lyrics. She loves dress up but
is very particular if she lets me do her hair.
Jax
4 yrs. This year he participated in his first “Primary Program” and did his
part all by himself. He’s starting to get big enough to help out with his
sisters and they adore him. Jax is our little catcher, I think his cousins and
friends like him cause he’ll catch all the bugs, toads, lizards and even a
starfish once for them to see and touch.
Aaron
as always is hard at work but this year finished a goal of getting his
Bachelors!!! He now has a degree in Nuclear Engineering. He is now the first
councilor in the Elder Quorum Presidency at church and I was just released as a
first councilor Primary Presidency, I’ve learned a lot teaching the children
and I know I will miss it.
The
big change for next year will be our move in February. Aaron has received his
orders and we will be in Newport News, VA. He has been assigned to the PCU
Delaware a precommisioned submarine (meaning a submarine under construction)
and will not be on deployments…just really, really long hours it the word
around the scuttle butt. We have really come to love Charleston and our friends
here and will miss it dearly.
We
love you all and if you get a chance you should come visit us in our new place
this next year! We hope that we may all rediscover the marvelous gift of our
Savior this year. And as always we hope you have a Merry Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year!
With Love,
Aaron,
Tamra, Jax, Jordyn & Ashlyn Tossey
