Christmas Letter 2014

It is the season beloved of the year again and as always I am just amazed at the past year and how we as a family have been blessed.

In February of this year we made the big decision to buy our first home here in Charleston and we love it. We love having a yard where we could plant our first garden. Aaron worked hard to fix the yard by tilling half of it and planting grass, not to mention he installed a drain system in our backyard because we had too much water due to South Carolina’s rain index (never thought I’d ever say that coming from Texas!). It now looks wonderful! We also had a few plumbing issues and now I know a few things about plumbing first hand. Thank goodness Aaron is such a good handyman! We will be in Charleston until November of 2015 so y’all have until then to come visit us!

Aaron also was very excited to purchase a boat this summer. He also experienced a couple firsts since our last letter by getting stitches (as you can guess he got them playing basketball) in his lip and hunting and killing his first deer. He’s excited to go out again this year. He’s staying crazy busy with work, online classes finishing his degree in nuclear engineering, and as a second councilor in the Elder’s Quorum at church.

I stay busy just being “Mom” most days and excited to be adding another little Tossey to clan in February, which we will wait to see the gender of when Tossey #3 arrives. I also received a new calling at church as a Primary second councilor, which I love.

Jax continues to grow, I have to stop sometimes and tell myself he’s not a toddler anymore, he is a little boy. He is now 3 years, although most who see him think he is 4. He has cut his own hair, swallowed a quarter and his favorite show is the “Little Einsteins.” He loves looking for worms and lizards and asked Aaron almost everyday this summer to go out on the boat with his new fishing pole.

Jordyn is now just over 1 ½ and has started going to nursery at church. She is very independent so on her first day she just made herself at home. She is such a fun active little thing. She walked at 9 ½ months and is quick to run away from me when I call her, laughing as she goes. She fell out of a swing onto a concrete floor and chipped her tooth, thanks be to dentists and filled the tooth in. She has the most gorgeous blue eyes and eyelashes and everyone who sees her seems to comment on them.  She is so sweet and although she loves her Mom is a total Daddy’s girl!

“Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Ris’n with healing in his wings.
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die;
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Hark! The herald angles sing
Glory to the newborn King!”

“Hark! The Herald Angles Sing” by Charles Wesley

We love you all and hope you “Have yourself a merry little Christmas”

Aaron, Tamra, Jax and Jordyn Tossey
